Vince Converse and the Big Brothers Band
A powerhouse of psychedelic funky blues, Vince Converse and the Big Brothers Band bring to their music virtuosity, high-intensity, strength and sensitivity, all steeped in blues tradition. Lead by Houston-born Vince Converse, an extraordinary guitarist, singer and song-writer, whose ferociously passionate approach made him a stand-out from a tender age. He and his early band, Sunset Heights, played blues-drenched rock in venues that he was too young to patronize. He’s appeared on international TV, and toured with acts like Johnny Winter, Peter Green, Fats Domino, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Vince’s undeniable talent was recognized and recorded on his debut album, One Step Ahead, by the legendary producer Eddie Kramer – who helped Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin achieve their patented sounds.
Supporting Vince is one of Colorado’s best and most sought after rhythm sections consisting of Bob Abbott on bass and Robert Fiorino on drums. These two highly versatile musicians, together for a decade and a half, consistently deliver a tight, intuitive, steam-roller foundation.
Keyboardist James Torres rounds out this group with his rich and creamy Hammond and Fender Rhodes sounds. A dynamic, creative soloist in his own right, James has for many years enlivened and enriched the Colorado music scene with his artistry.
