Nelson Rangell

Jazziz magazine writes that Nelson Rangell is “an artist of depth, a master of song, and an improviser non pareil.” The Times of London notes “his extraordinary facility on a range of instruments” and Rangell’s “considerable crowd pleasing power”. Saxophone Journal writes “He commands the alto saxophone with such authority there can be no denying that Rangell is a true artist." Such praise is a confirmation of what contemporary jazz fans have known since the Denver based saxophonist emerged in the late 80s: that Rangell is one of the most exciting and diverse performers in the genre, equally adept at soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone, as well as being a genuine virtuoso on flute and piccolo.

REMUS TUCKER BAND

Don't miss the Nissi's debut of ....Remus Tucker and The Remus Tucker Band. They bring it hard and when the dust settles, you’ll be screaming for more. Remus Tucker is The Mountain Man of Rock & Country and no stranger to fun. Whether it is chasing bear through the mountains, or throwing back a bit of old Lightning, he is all about laughing and having a good time. His trademark hat and long hair lets ya spot him from far off. Tucker has played with the likes of Firefall, John Lee Hooker Jr. and has always left crowds satisfied. The artist’s influences are many, with vocal styles that are reminiscent of Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Geoff Tate, and Ronnie Van Zant. You can usually find him banging out some tune he just pulled out of his… um… well… “made up”, or singing some Ol Time Country. His soulful renderings touch ya in a way that you start thinking “Maybe rebel hippies aren’t all bad.”

Woodshed Red hails from the Colorado Springs area and performs all over Colorado and the neighboring states. Originally comprised of guitar, fiddle, upright bass, and drums from varying musical backgrounds; the group came together in 2013 and began covering a huge variety of genres, as well as writing their own original tunes. In late 2017, the band welcomed Jason Gilmore on mandolin to round out their line-up. Inspired by bluegrass, blues, funk and rock spanning eras of music both old and new, the band members have incorporated their individual styles to create their own unique sound. NELSON RANGELL

Tickets available May 23 9:00am

MELMO & THE MIDDLEMEN

Well-known Denver stage actress Melissa J Morris (Melmo) had been sitting in on a regular basis with The Country Touch, which had her Uncle JB Arnold in the pedal steel chair. They decided to see if they could get a full show behind Melissa, concentrating on the era they had had been mining for her country touch sets. That would be the troubadour crowd of the early 70's, most notably Linda Ronstadt. John had worked previously with Larry Warner and knew he liked that music.

DOTSERO

Taking their name from a small mountain town in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, DOTSERO means “Something Unique” according to Ute Native American legend to some. It means DOT-ZERO on the earliest geographical railroad maps to others, but to jazz fans worldwide DOTSERO means Contemporary Jazz at its best, full of life energy and spontaneity that few artists in the genre have been able to match. A no nonsense sax and guitar driven thrill ride of energy and excitement. As much fun to watch as they are to listen to. The band has performed at major jazz festivals; Red Rocks Amphitheatre, JVC Winter Park Jazz Fest, Jazz Trax Catalina Island Jazz Fest and The Cancun Jazz Festival, among others. From Ala Carte Ala Park in San Francisco to West Palm Beach’s Sunfest, DOTSERO has crisscrossed the nation performing their exciting brand of jazz.

THE PETTY - NICKS EXPERIENCE

We began our journey as The Tom Petty Project many years ago. The band recreates the full on concert experience of a Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Show with Stevie Nicks….or maybe it’s a Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac show with the Heartbreakers….either way, this music has universal appeal.

These are the songs of our lives. From “American Girl” to “Runnin’ Down A Dream” to “Edge of 17” to “Landslide”, the show is full of hits that millions of people know and love. The Petty Nicks Experience looks the part. Authentic wardrobe and plenty of vintage instruments combined with the best of modern musical technology achieve the iconic look and incredible sonic palate that you would expect from a a premier tribute experience. The Petty Nicks Experience delivers on all fronts.
Come and enjoy the music and sing and dance along with the soundtrack of your life.
