Bourbon & Blues with
Barrel of Blues

Barrel of Blues is a Lafayette, Colo.-based band formed in 2013, born of a deep love of Chicago South Side and uptempo British Invasion blues (think Yardbirds and John Mayall, among many others)—plus the many other interactions and extensions of classic Mississippi Delta blues. The band consists of local music scene veterans Scotty “Wrongway” Conway on guitar and vocals, Victor Creazzi on harmonica and vocals, Todd Ganter on drums and vocals, and Frank Lampe on bass and vocals. Barrel of Blues’ rocking and highly danceable live shows keep the flame burning for America’s very own righteous, foot stomping’, booty-shaking music, with an entertaining mix of well-known and not-so-well known blues and blues-influenced covers and a growing roster of high-energy originals.

Nelson Rangell

Jazziz magazine writes that Nelson Rangell is “an artist of depth, a master of song, and an improviser non pareil.” The Times of London notes “his extraordinary facility on a range of instruments” and Rangell’s “considerable crowd pleasing power”. Saxophone Journal writes “He commands the alto saxophone with such authority there can be no denying that Rangell is a true artist,” and Flute Talk Magazine states “Nelson Rangell creates the impression that anything is possible when he improvises.” Such praise is a confirmation of what contemporary jazz fans have known since the Denver based saxophonist emerged in the late 80s: that Rangell is one of the most exciting and diverse performers in the genre, equally adept at soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone, as well as being a genuine virtuoso on flute and piccolo. *20% off bottles of wine

Blues & Bourbon with
Deborah Stafford &
The State of Affairs

Deborah Stafford is a talented and versatile singer. She can wail on the blues just as easily as singing a beautiful 40's Big Band ballad. "The key is giving the song what it needs" she says. She began hanging around at Blues Jams and soon a new band called the The Immortal Blues Ambassadors asked her to be their singer. The more she sang Blues the more she loved it. When the BA's broke up, she created Stone Soup, a funky blues and soul band that played together for 5 years. But still she dreamed of competing in Memphis and decided this year to create the IBC band of her dreams. Thus was born, Deborah Stafford & The State of Affairs, the product of much love and heartache over many years, as a good blues band should be.
